By Admin | December 31, 2009
Being a stay at home mom of two small children, running a business and taking care of my home, among many other things, was no small task. I needed a way to organize my home. I wanted to make things simpler and make my home run more smoothly. My problem was that I didn’t have a lot of time or money to spend organizing my home. Click here to see how I found out how to organize my life.
I know what it is like to have little or no time for house cleaning and all that comes with taking care of a home and family. After my second child was born, I knew there had to be a better way of running our home. I just didn’t have time to do anything. I felt like my house was beginning to run me instead of me running it. I felt buried amid a cloud of clutter and chaos.
I got my disorganization honestly. I came from a line of pack-rats. My grandmother’s home was full of clutter and was packed full when she passed away. My mom has closets and vacant rooms crammed with stuff. It’s just hard to know what to do with it all! I was following in their footsteps, and I knew it had to stop. I wanted to know how to organize my home so that my home was free of all the clutter that I had become accustomed to. I thought I needed lots of clutter organize stuff, but it turns out I didn’t. Click here to see what helped me stop the pattern of disorganization.
I began to look at my home in a different way. I knew I needed to make lasting changes. I wanted to spend more time with my two precious children and less of it worried about the shape my home was in. I also wanted help to organize my calender and my life in general. I didn’t want to leave any stone unturned. I found that I didn’t have to do a major overhaul all at once. It worked much better for me to take things one step at a time to help organize my home. I started with the room that made me cringe every time I entered it, my kitchen. Yours may be your garage or living room. Once my kitchen was organized, it was motivation enough to keep going throughout my home.
After much searching I found something that answered all the organization questions I had. This wasn’t only a book but it also came with tips that I was able to use with my MP3. I felt like they were holding my hand to help me get organized. The tips were all practical and I was finally able to organize my life, not just my home. The only negative thing I guess I could say about this guide is that it contains more information than I actually needed, like how to organize my home office. However, I suppose that just makes it more versatile for different people to actually succeed by using it. If you need help to organize your home, these folks can help. Organizing My Home Just Got Simpler With These Three Quick Tips
By Admin | December 18, 2009
Organizing my home was something I knew I had to do, but I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on organizers or a professional. Really, I mean who does? I found three tips to help me organize my home that really helped me get off to a great start. Maybe they will help you too. Click here to see more tips that helped me.
The first step to organizing is getting rid of the clutter that you don’t need. If you can go through the most cluttered areas of your home and take out the things that you don’t use, you would be well on your way to a more organized home. Getting rid of the clutter you don’t need, makes more room for the things you do need. Organize home closets this way, and you will have more room almost immediately.
Another very important step is to put everything in its place. When you bring in the mail, sort through it and throw away the junk mail. Put bills and important information in a file that you have created. Help your kids put dirty laundry in its proper place so you don’t have to pick it up later. Go ahead and fill the dishwasher after a meal instead of leaving the dirty dishes in the sink. Don’t procrastinate! If you put things where they are supposed to go right away, they won’t pile up and create a big cluttered mess. This was a very important tip to help me organize my home. Finally, reorganize your things in a way that makes them more accessible. For example, organize your kitchen so that you know exactly where everything is, and it is convenient. Put glasses in the cabinet next to the refrigerator. Put pots and pans under or in the cabinet next to the stove. Place dishtowels and dishcloths close to the sink. Place potholders and oven mitts in a drawer or on hooks next to the oven. You get the idea. Make your life easier by changing things around so that you have things right where you need them. You can also do this in closets, bathrooms and other areas. Organizing my home wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be.
These are just a few home organization tips that can really help organize your home. I even used these tips to help organize my home office. Click here to see a complete guide to getting organized.
